We're not getting started QUITE yet--I sent an email to the mods with the comm info yesterday, but have yet to hear back from them since they're so swamped with sign-ups and they're asking the palhonchos to wait a bit before trying to organize things. However, since a few people are here already and portaling  politely nudged me about this, why don't you guys go ahead and start to get to know each other here in this post? I'm sure more people will trickle in as they discover the comm exists, and of course once we're officially up on the HSO site, the rest will arrive.

How old are you? I'm 22.
What other Homestuck characters and ships do you like? Dave may or may not be my actual spirit animal, and I love Roxy to kind of a scary extent sometimes. I really love all the kids. I also ship John/Rose, Rose/Kanaya, and basically any combination of Alpha Kids, but most of what I like is actually family-intensive gen stuff.
What other fandoms are you in? I don't really do the fandom thing for anything besides Homestuck, but I'm very into Digimon and Pokemon and have casual knowledge of some other nerdy things.
What kind of works do you like to make? How do you participate in fandom, if you do? I do fanfics, comics, and drawings and a loottttt of RPing as various Daves.
What's your time zone? Currently EST.

Which movie that came out in the past year have you liked the most? Oh god, why did I ask myself this? Uhhh. Toy Story 3.

I nudge because I am super excited, and last year I had to leave Team Dave/Jade for other reasons so I didn't get to compete. I am very happy that I made it this year, though!!

What's your preferred handle and your gender pronouns? I go by Aaron, and I use they/them/theirs.

What other Homestuck characters and ships do you like? Jade and Dave are my favorites, but I also like Terezi, Aradia, Roxy and Jack Noir. (Everyone.) My other favorite ships are Davesprite/Jade and Aradia/Jade and also perhaps Jane/Roxy.
What other fandoms are you in? A Song of Ice and Fire, Portal, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and the Tamora Pierce "fandom" if you can even call it that. It's so small.
What kind of works do you like to make? How do you participate in fandom, if you do? I am first and foremost a fanfic writer! My AO3 is 'livethekind' and I primarily write Dave/Jade...but I also draw! I draw traditionally, so it's all on paper. I also like to make FSTs. My other participations in fandom include making icons and dabblings in roleplaying as lots of different Jade Harleys (Striders, Lalondes, Egberts, mostly all Jades) as well as Rose and Kanaya. I'm also teaching a class on Homestuck next fall, and I cosplay!

Which movie that came out in the past year have you liked the most? Oh jeez. I don't watch a lot of movies, so I guess I'll have to say Sherlock Holmes 2.

AGHH THIS IS SO EXCITING. Ash, I really hope you don't mind me taking over the tumblr version of this, eeeeeek! I kind of just made it so we could get a handle on who's who! :) Anyways, this is just so thrilling, last year I found out about HSO during Round 3, and I was simply determined to get onto the team this year! Gosh, this is going to be lots of fun, I hope!

What other fandoms are you in? A Song of Ice and Fire, Portal, Pokemon, Once Upon a Time, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Merlin, and whatever is left of the Percy Jackson fandom.
What kind of works do you like to make? How do you participate in fandom, if you do? I enjoy writing, and creating fanmixes! I also write lyrics, and re-write lyrics a la Broadwaystuck fashion. I don't sing, though. That said, I write fanfiction, and have a fairly cool 8tracks following.

Though I don't have much to show for it as school has consumed my life for the past few months. I sketch fairly often, but very few actually end up with digital copies... >__>; Though my semester is finally dying down, so by the time the main rounds begin I will be completely free to do lots and lots of stuff! Also, I am a fashion major so I have some ~mad sewing skills~ that I definitely intend to put to good use at some point in the contest >:3 I also want to give creative writing a shot.

I like all the homestuck characters! And as for my ships.. I also ship johnvris, rosemary, karter, WVPM, sollux<3aradia, erifef, jakejane, haha... too many too count... but I don't really multiship!

I'm sort of kind of in the one piece, bakuman, and boxerhockey fandom. (Kind of in them in the way that I don't actively participate in them :'D)

I draw/write/make crazy ideas for my friend to interpret. I've aso sewn a couple scalemates, and make a few small miscellaneous cosplay props.

What other Homestuck characters and ships do you like? I like everyone. My favorites are Vriska and Terezi, though. Roxy is pretty great, too. EVERYONE IS GREAT ajhfksekfh
And my list of ships is obnoxiously long but I can never go wrong with John<3Rose, John<>/<3Vris, Dave<>Terezi...  Karkat<>Kanaya is my pale OTP, and I've got a huge soft spot for Dirk<3Roxy... also I really love rare pairs, like, a lot. Favorites being Karkat<3Vris and Dave<3Vris, but I usually just kind of latch onto one for a while and it becomes my "OTP du jour." 

What other fandoms are you in? Avatar, Doctor Who. Used to be pretty active in the Phantom of the Opera fandom, and I really like Adventure Time, Sherlock, the Hunger Games, and Pokemon, (and do superhero movies count? because I really love superhero movies; I actually want to work on them when I grow up) but I'm not active in those fandoms. Although I did write a rap and song for THG once long ago.

Partially because I have no concept of large amounts of time like that and partially because I watch a ton of movies. I guess I liked the Hunger Games? My family greatly anticipated its release and it did not disappoint. Also I was delighted with the cinematography. No idea if it was my favorite, though.

I'm really excited for this year's HSO!!  It was really great last year, but unfortunately, most of my team dropped off pretty early on, so our comm was kind of silent and lonely and by the end, there were only three of us left to scrape something together for the collab round. 8( So I guess these are my fears. But so far it seems like this year will be very different!

A little about myself: I go by catw1ngs, and I am 22 years old~ I'm one of those types of people who ship everyone with everyone (mostly), and I could make a mile long list of all my ships, but my favorites are John<3Vriska and Dave<3Jade. <3 Homestuck is really my only "active" fandom, and the one I create fanart and cosplay from the most, but I also like Lorax, Silent Hill, Vocaloid, and tons more that would take too long to list here ahahah.
